It was a great reminder that we often have more knowledge and insight than we realize. That insight can be of real value to others.
Here's the key: If you can provide value, you just might be able to profit from it.
Take time to do a little inventory. Try to uncover that expertise, that wisdom you can bring to light for someone or some group that could really benefit. Do this enough at the office and you're closer to that next promotion.
You really do know more than you think you do. So, put it to good use.
