
One of the building blocks of our future economy is expertise. We cannot move ahead, much less keep our jobs, without some level of expertise. Doesn't mean you have to be best in the world. But you have to be able to do more than park cars and make coffee.
Let's face it, employers pay for people who produce results. Very often, that's someone who has a unique skill or talent that goes beyond what "most people" would offer.
In other words, you can be the best team player there is, but if you don't have expertise, you're not that valuable. If you're not that valuable, you may very well find yourself looking for another job.

The good news is that you probably know something or can do something that makes you more of an expert than you might think of yourself. So, don't sell yourself short.
But, don't overlook what could be an obvious void in your resume. For success, determine what you can do to increase your value by boosing your expertise.
