Ever notice how often we focus on a certain barometer of success (sales, revenue, accounts) and fail to realize what's actually more important and more of a true measure of success?
We can waste so much time in meetings, planning and strategy sessions by focusing on the wrong thing.

Take health and fitness as just one example. Maybe you've heard of Dr. Oz. I hadn't until recently, when I stumbled upon his website. What struck me was his interesting perspective on healthy living.
While most of us focus on our weight (how many pounds we have yet to lose), Dr. Oz believes it's not the weight, it's your waist.
As he puts it, "Your waist should be about half of your height. Your waist size is a better indicator of your overall health - and is an important number to know before you begin the challenge." By the way, if your waist is half your height or less, you're probably in pretty good shape.
That was not only in terms of how to judge my own health, but for life and business.
Are you obsessing over numbers that really don't reflect the true health of your company or organization? What better numbers or measuring tool can you use to determine whether you're really on track for success?
