If you're in business, you need to be blogging. There may be a few exceptions, but I can't think of any.
Blogging allows you to engage with your customers, express your point of view and, above all, it positions you as a thought leader within your industry or niche.
But if you really want to go the extra mile, consider a spoken blog post. In other words, a podcast. Record your blog and bring it to life.
Let's face it, people learn in different ways. Some like to read, some like to watch videos, others like to listen. So, why not provide both words and audio? In fact, consider video, too.
Think of your posts as falling into one of three categories:

Think of your posts as falling into one of three categories:
1. Analysis
Analysis is your insight into an issue or subject you care about. You might include some research, respond to a recent study or interview an expert who provides the analysis.
2. Opinion
Opinion is all about your particular point of view. This may be a reaction to something in the news or something within your industry. It's less analysis and more pure "you."
3. Information
Information is providing people with how-tos, tips or step-by-step instructions. You might provide a link to another website or blog. Using the model of three, five or seven steps seems to be most effective.
All of these kinds of posts can be written and then recorded into an audio blog, making it easier for your followers to catch more of your personality and gain their trust.
After all, trust is really the key to getting them to come back and see or hear what else you have to say and, ultimately, what you have to sell.
So, get blogging and get talking.
