As we learned to write, we often relied on action verbs to punch up our stories. "See Spot run," was one of the earliest sentences I can remember actually reading for myself.
Action verbs are great at conveying movement, activity and progress. Run, work, explode, reach, jump...the list goes on. Action verbs make a sentence move.
Action verbs are important in the story of our life. It's what we do that ultimately matters more than what we think. But there's one action verb that stands out among them all.

Choose. We are a product of our choices. What we are and who we have become are the result of the choices we have made over the course of our life. Decisions about where to go to college, whether to even go to college and whom to marry were choices that produced results we are still living with today.
So, how do we change our lives? By choosing something else. Choose to think differently, to reach out to someone you haven't met, to try something new. The person you are tomorrow will be the result, in part, of the choices you make today.
