Idle or Ideal?

We usually have a pretty good idea of the perfect life, perfect job or perfect personality we'd like to have. We have little trouble coming up with the appropriate bank balance or the new car that we ought to have in the garage.

Ideals are easy to come by. Our problem is that we're still in neutral, idling along and wondering why we're not moving forward. If you're ideals are stuck at idle, here's what you can do.

Set one goal. That's it. Just one. Decide what you can get done in the next 30 to 45 days.

Now, take out your calendar and plot the action steps you'll need to accomplish that goal. Fill in the appointments, hours, meetings, planning, whatever is involved.

Just this process alone should inspire you that you're on your way. It may be awhile before your cruising down the highway, but at least you're no longer idle.
