It is time to shake things up?
I was talking to my wife about her job, and she mentioned she was considering making some changes. She wasn't sure of all of the pros and cons of the changes, but she was giving it some thought. Then she said something that really caught my attention: "I think I'm in a rut and want to shake things up."
I got to thinking, we can fall into ruts all too easily. Someone once said a rut is nothing but a grave with both ends kicked out.
Ruts lead to all kinds of problems. We lose strength and speed, ideas, momentum, motivation, initiative. Before we know it, we're not just coasting, we're declining.

Ah, but it's tough to get out of a rut. It takes courage and a strong will to overcome the inertia that's set in or that uncomfortable feeling we get when we try to change. Tough, but necessary.
M. Scott Peck said, “The truth is that our finest moments are most likely to occur when we are feeling deeply uncomfortable, unhappy, or unfulfilled. For it is only in such moments, propelled by our discomfort, that we are likely to step out of our ruts and start searching for different ways or truer answers.”
So, shaking things up may be just the thing you need. In other words, don't wait for change to happen to you. Go out and start creating the change you want to see today.
