Are You Ready? What if you got a call out of the blue from someone asking you to be a fill-in speaker the following day? Would you accept the offer or turn it down because you weren't prepared?
It happened to me recently, when I was asked to speak to the Carol Stream, Illinois, Chamber of Commerce the night before its luncheon meeting. I accepted the opportunity without much hesitation because I knew there was more upside than downside. In fact, I was even able to generate a little humor out of the situation, as you'll hear in this short audio clip.
