How do you battle obstacles that are flying at you like some kind of 3-D movie?
The quick response might be that you come up with all kinds of ways to deal with the obstacle...you look for solutions, you look for money, you look for resources, you look for outside help, etc.
But there's a problem with that approach.
The quick response might be that you come up with all kinds of ways to deal with the obstacle...you look for solutions, you look for money, you look for resources, you look for outside help, etc.
But there's a problem with that approach.
It keeps the focus on the obstacle. You're mind is preoccupied with how to solve the problem or come up with a solution. As others have suggested, we tend to get the things on which we focus the most attention.
So, keep your mind and energy focussed on the objective. You still have the goal you always had before the obstacles reared their ugly heads. Keep your eye on the ultimate prize. It might be a new customer, product, service or research project.
When you stay focussed on the goal, the obstacles begin to present their own solutions. Problems don't seem so insurmountable.
Keep the objective bigger than the obstacle.
